Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. When she moved into England from Greece at 16 She earned an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. She was the first person who was not from the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she went on to become an influential voice for the Huffington Post. It was possible for her to recruit many prominent contributors to share their opinions regarding politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she made the decision in 2003 to become an Independent candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential woman" in media, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group that also includes additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a Journalism and management expert. Her character was formed by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her father, even though she was very close to him. In her earliest years she showed leadership abilities that are still highly regarded. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with a Masters in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and a television host. In addition, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using the editorial services of Bernard Levin.
