April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. Ross is among a few female players of beach volleyball who have done so. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll be aiming to net her third medal alongside first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross wants to achieve more than her initial Olympic medal. At 39 and has a long way to go, this could be her last chance. Her confidence is high nevertheless. If we perform at our very top or do well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She resided there with her family. The athletic pursuits she pursued was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several different sports. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running and track. In her final game she stood out. As per her biography, during high school she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a setting (outside blocker). As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. Additionally, in 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started the partnership in 2017, but Ross has been a beach player for years prior to. As a matter of fact, Ross has won several significant tournaments during her time with two partners. One of them is a legend. From 2007 to 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Together together with Kessy Ross, she won the World Championship in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. This duo went into winning a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor as she left the team. They both won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated the high school she attended. Her time at USC was quite impressive. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and was also an All-American. She also helped her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. After her sophomore year she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over the course of the two years she played for the Trojans they helped to win two consecutive titles. In her own way Ross established her status as a legend when she won the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This prize was awarded to the best female college volleyball players across the United States. Ross was an international relations student at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to see her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mother passed away from breast carcinoma in 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. However, she keeps her parents close to her his heart. Margie has always been a source of inspiration for her at and off the beaches.
