Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actor as well as a producer, director and educator, playwright as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk is child of a Briton, and a Turkish Cypriot English ex-pat. When she was a kid, she played in commercials for a number of companies. Anna was transferred to Toronto in November of 1999, to further her acting career. She eventually settled down at Los Angeles (California) over the next ten years.
